Mothers’ Union

IMG 0001

The mothers Union in Nairobi Dioceses, except the UK is a group that is made up of ladies only. We have occasionally teased men to join us but on a serious note, I think it would be quiet healthy to have men in our mother’s movement. I wonder whether you have ever enjoyed a partnering leadership experience where you are working relationship with another leader of the opposite sex. The two of you are open and receptive to ideas, able to listen and learn from one another. You feel safe to share your thoughts and you know they will be taken seriously.

Trust and mutual respect characterize the relationship. Both of you realize that the work you do together is much better that either of you could have accomplished alone. On this note, I want to appreciate the women leaders in the Diocese who have courageously gone ahead to consult with their opposite colleague partners in the Christian life to enhance the mothers union work in their parishes. I have noticed a lot of growth in the mother’s union work for the last three years since I took over leadership. A lot of gratitude to my predecessor for the ground she laid in the mother’s union work.

The mothers union has aims and objectives whose aim is advancement of Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life. I have realized that the first two objectives are very important and are paramount to achieving the other three objectives.
