Family Faith fundraising

Dear Church Member,

I wish to confer our most sincere thanks and elation for your generosity and commitment to our cause on and before 7th June 2015. Indeed, words fail me in expressing the absolute joy and pleasure and the miracles that were witnessed on the said day with people having stretched themselves to the max to complete God’s house and in the process make history. Not only did we break all collective Parish records, but individuals and families gave more that they have ever given! This generosity in giving of ourselves so selflessly and in mobilizing our families and friends enabled us to achieve what we did. We were able to raise 5,118,688. Together with the dev-Olympics raised through Church departments, we are at 6,318,688 as at 3rd July 2015. We continue to receive contributions from our visitors who were unable to be with us on that day and from members who wish to meet their unachieved FFF TARGETS. May God richly bless you and meet the needs of your house as you have met the needs of His.

Yours Sincerely,

Rev. Samuel Chege.

Brief Background

St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Kabete is a cosmopolitan Parish in the Episcopal See of Nairobi under the jurisdiction of the Rt. Rev. Joel Waweru. The membership come from both Nairobi and Kiambu Counties as the Parish is situated at the border of the two. The old St. Mary’s sanctuary was built by the Church Missionary Society (CMS) in 1929. The journey to the new St. Mary’s sanctuary kicked off at the 60th anniversary of the first colonial structure which, by then, had become too small with a maximum capacity of sixty people only. Thus, on 24th December 1989 the late Archbishop of the Province of Kenya, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Manasses Kuria, did the ground breaking ceremony after which a communal digging of the foundation by members of the congregation was undertaken on Saturday 24th February 1990. Through the heroic commitment of the members of St. Mary’s Church, we have been able to raise more than Kshs15, 000, 000. It is through this same gallant spirit of faith and commitment that we have resolved to see the completion of this monumental work in 2015. To this end, we have set aside 7th June 2015 as the day we will raise Kshs10, 000, 000.00 to complete and furnish God’s house and have it consecrated by our Diocesan Bishop. Your ongoing support is deeply appreciated. If you have questions, concerns or just want more details about this important fundraising effort, please contact us at 0721669730/ 0737780911.

1 John 2:15-17
(15) Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them. (16) For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. (17) The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
